The reason we use an external amplifier is because we cannot make the amplifier both small enough and powerful enough to install it in the housing. Our external amplifier is very reliable and efficient, but one of the best things is the amplifier is the most valuable part of our system outside of the speakers, and it can be replaced easily if it ever needs to be.
